Join us as special guest artist Cathy Talbot leads an introduction to enameling. Glass enameling is the ancient art of melting fine powdered glass to metal. In this new enameling class we will work with liquid vitreous enamel on copper. Pieces will then be enhanced by your sgraffito “scratch it” designs and “pack it” with your choices from a wonderful assortment of wet enamels. Join us for a fun and informative class to learn or expand your work with vitreous enamels.
Tools and supplies will be provided. However, everyone is encouraged to bring their own safety glasses and apron (if you already have these). There will also be a limited amount of extra copper if you wish to bring your own jeweler's saw and project design. Small, simple designs are best since enameling techniques are the focus of the class and copper size will be limited.
