2. MIG Welding I
MIG Welding is sometimes described as the “hot glue gun” of steel. This four-hour class teaches you to safely operate a MIG (wire welder) and ARC Welder (stick welder). Students will get a breakdown of each machine, its functions and uses. Each student will spend time welding on "coupons" or small pieces of steel, working to perfect their weld beads through body mechanics and machine settings. For health and safety, please let the shop staff know if you have a pacemaker or internal defibrillator.
Please note: All Metal Museum welding classes are taught as introductory and hobby classes. Students will be introduced to various welding techniques and taught to safely use a variety of welding machines. These are fun hobby introductions and not certification classes.
