The Metal Museum Foundry has been working in collaboration with LaRose Elementary and Cummings Elementary to produce handmade 8x8" cast aluminum art tiles to be displayed on the exterior of the Gaston Community Center in south Memphis.
The two schools share a zip code with the Metal Museum and on Tuesday last week the Museum's Foundry visited LaRose Elementary and students watched as their designs were cast in aluminum!
This project would not have been possible with out the help and support of the UrbanArt Commission and Knowledge Quest. Stay tuned to see these art tiles hanging on the exterior wall of the Gaston Community Center!
